Modern awards – a fresh reminder.

Awards have remained as a cornerstone of Australia’s industrial relations for over a century.

Modern awards are legal documents that specify the minimum pay rates and conditions of employment across more than 100 industries and occupations in Australia.

Modern awards can still be a complex burden for many organisations, and Australia’s awards system does not make it any easier for businesses. It is far too common for organisations to have made an error, a simple misinterpretation of an award, that ends up costing them a lot of time and money to correct this misstep.

Simply put: double check your award category and ensure you don’t fall into the trap of continually paying incorrect rates, blissfully unaware.
